Tour de Gazer transcends a mere cycling adventure

Nelia and I recently embarked on a remarkable cycling expedition in the captivating Eastern Free State, accompanied by friends: Riann and Jeanne de Klerk, Raymond and Penny Martin, Michael and Benine du Toit, Johan and Marcel Pienaar, and Graham and Stella Mellor. The organiser of our adventure, Renee Wolfaardt, ensured that the "Tour de Gazer" would be an experience to remember. 🚴‍♂️

Our journey unfolded through diverse landscapes, where each day's carefully planned route took us across rolling hills, open plains, and valleys embellished with sandstone outcrops against the majestic backdrop of the Maluti Mountains. Covering approximately 50-60 km daily, we uncovered the hidden gems of this picturesque region.

The adventure extended beyond cycling – experiencing the rich history of towns like Paul Roux and Rosendal with its charming sandstone architecture. The beauty of the landscape unfolded through winding gravel roads, tranquil farmlands, vibrant wildflowers, and occasional wildlife

Our accommodations at guest farms and houses, including Dunlin, Willowdene Farm, Valuta Farm, and House Beautiful in Rosendal, were meticulously selected, ensuring a delightful and indulgent 4-day experience, expertly organized by Renee Wolfaardt.
